2年ぶりのリーグ王者奪還。その中心にいたのは、間違いなくあの男だった。プロ3年目にして突如として覚醒し、最優秀防御率のタイトルをかっさらい、MVPと新人王のダブル受賞という歴史的な快挙を成し遂げた右腕。そう、村上頌樹だ。
